Hello Viticulture and Enology Family and Friends!
Thank you to all of those who have already bought tickets to the Winkler Dinner or have made a donation in support of DEVO. This is a friendly reminder to purchase a ticket to partake in the dinner if you have not already and get excited for our virtual auction (all welcome). By purchasing a ticket to the event, you are helping to support DEVO in the educational and enriching activities we organize throughout the year for our students.
This year, we have coursed meals carefully paired to 3 different bottles of donated wines available for purchase (vegetarian option available). The wines featured are a Wente Riva Ranch Chardonnay, a Skipstone 2017 Preface Proprietary Red, and a Silver Oak 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon. We advise purchasing one meal ticket per person and one wine kit (3 bottles) per household.
These wine and food kits will be available for pickup at the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science between 3 and 4 pm on May 15th, the day of the event. The dinner courses will be prepared cold, with instructions to finish them at home! Due to complications in shipping wine, please only purchase a wine or food ticket if you are in the surrounding area and are able to pick up your dinner on the day of the event. We have attached the Winkler Dinner menu to give you a glimpse of the delicious meals to look forward to.
This year, we will also be opening our auction to the public, so even if you are unable to attend we invite you to consider participating in our virtual auction which will open on the evening of the event. Feel free to visit our auction website to get a sneak peek of the lots! We will continue to add more lots as the event approaches.
Please visit our website, www.winklerdinner.com, in order to purchase tickets and view our virtual auction items!
We are looking forward to hosting our supportive community, sharing food and drink, and showcasing some of DEVO's contributions to our student body.
Winkler Dinner - DEVO Held at the Robert Mondavi Institute for Food and Wine at UC Davis, the Winkler Dinner is our most important event as it is DEVO's only annual fundraiser.

Hello, UC Davis Viticulture and Enology family and friends!
On May 15th, 2021, we are extremely excited to announce that the 20th annual Winkler Dinner will be taking place virtually. DEVO was deeply disappointed to cancel the event last year, but we are delighted to have the opportunity to revive the cherished dinner in a socially distanced format.
Typically held at the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science at UC Davis, the Winkler Dinner is the event of the year for DEVO. As DEVO’s only annual fundraiser, the Winkler Dinner proceeds support all activities the organization plans throughout the year, including educational wine tastings and immersion trips to various wine regions. The Winkler Dinner also helps the DEVO International Fellowship, a scholarship granted to one outstanding graduate and undergraduate student wishing to work abroad.
This year the dinner courses will be prepared for at-home enjoyment, and thoughtfully paired with our generously donated wines. The food courses and wine pairings will be available for pick-up in Davis on the day of the event. The dinner will feature a virtual program in which the respective winemakers will provide an introduction to each wine provided with the dinner, as well as an introduction to our virtual auction.
Tickets will be available for purchase in the upcoming month. In the meantime, we encourage you to mark the date on your calendar and spread the word with colleagues, friends, and family. Our intention for this year’s Winkler Dinner is to continue to foster unity in our department and the community that so generously supports us during this distanced time. We look forward to hosting you for another wonderful evening of wine, food, and fundraising.

Hello Everyone!
It is that time of year where the buzz about the Winkler Dinner seems to be on the rise, unfortunately, we had to cancel this event, something we were very disappointed to have to do. Thank you to all those who have reached out concerned about the event and those who have showed their continued support for our organization. Alternatively, we invite everyone to visit our website (https://www.winklerdinner.com) and click ‘Read More’ to learn about the wonderful year we had, current officers, and how you can continue to support us during these difficult times.
Cheers and take care!
