The UC Davis Olive Center and UC Food Quality program are pleased to host two upcoming professional training programs this June that focus on olive oil quality evaluation, sensory analysis, and industry best practices
Join us on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 for the Introductory Course, and on June 18-19, 2026 for the more in-depth Advanced Course. 🌿
These courses bring together olive oil producers, processors, quality managers, laboratory professionals, and industry stakeholders to deepen their understanding of how olive oil quality is created, evaluated, and communicated.

The UCD Olive Center in collaboration with the Executive Chef Kue Her of UCD Dining, and UCD Arboretum and Public Garden, is offering this one-of-a-kind olive appreciation practical course that will focus on evaluating, cooking, tasting, food pairing and production aspects of olive oils. In addition to training and educate cooking and food enthusiasts, the class will have hands-on produce harvest, food preparation, tasting exercise and outdoor activities. Children over 12+ with an accompanying adult are welcome!

The Olive Center is thrilled to host the International Olive Sustainability Conference in Davis on September 5-7. The conference is a special opportunity to engage with researchers, farmers, and producers from around the world and members of the olive oil trade and culinary community. In addition to the three-day agenda there are post-conference tours to visit California Olive farms and research facilities. Alongside the full schedule of presentations, panel discussions and poster sessions, we have planned social events, olive oil tastings and plenty of opportunities to network and have fun!
