Our final 2017-2018 officer to be featured is our other fearless Co-President Elect Alexa Dickson! Here's what being a part of HWC has meant to her so far: "My mental wellness was never really a concern of mine before coming to vet school. This club opening the dialogue about mental health helped me seek counseling which greatly improved my life. Since prioritizing my mental wellness had such an amazing impact on my life, I wanted to make sure that the club reached more people like me. So far being Co-President elect has been extremely rewarding. I feel like I am a part of something on campus that can reach so many students, faculty, staff and hopefully the profession as a whole, and I don't think any other leadership position has allowed me to feel this empowered to help people before.".
We really hope to see some new faces at our officer meeting tomorrow in Valley 2011! And hope that all of these testimonies have shown you that joining the Health and Wellness Club officer team is a way to make an impact on the lives of your friends and classmates during vet school and is an experience you won't regret!!! :)

Our next featured officer is Averi James one of our current President-elects who is set to take over running the HWC when our current third years go into clinics. Here's what Averi loves about being part of the HWC officer team: "Being an officer of the Health and Wellness club has been, and continues to be, an incredibly fun and rewarding experience. One of my favorite things about being part of the officer team is that I am surrounded by wonderful, compassionate people. Everyone who helps run this club tries their best to support one another and I know if I’m having a challenging day or even need someone to step in on a project I will always have support."
If what Averi does or whatever of our other officers do sounds like a good fit to you please fill out this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc91BAhpyMoULEi7btAwMUUXVWPlRY6_SOpf95gl6S3uNt4Sw/viewform and attend our February meeting *tomorrow* in 2011 Valley!

Our February meeting/officer elections are happening *tomorrow* in 2011 Valley! And if you need more convincing to fill out this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc91BAhpyMoULEi7btAwMUUXVWPlRY6_SOpf95gl6S3uNt4Sw/viewform before then we still have three more officers to feature starting with our VP Nicki. Here's what she has to say about being part of the HWC Officer team: "It’s hard not to feel drowned by the academic pressures of vet school, which is why it’s so important to take care of ourselves. Being an officer of the Health and Wellness Club I have had the privilege to get to know amazing faculty who are genuinely interested in students, have input on creating and implementing fun activities for my peers, and work with a great team that is always open to talking about any issues regarding our own mental wellness. I serve as the Vice President, which involves organizing activities such as Tai Chi and Student-Faculty Yoga. It’s a fun position and I highly recommend it if you care about promoting the mental health of your peers!"

We're still looking for new officers for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year! Elections will be held this Friday February 16th in 2011 Valley so if you're interested in any of our open positions please fill out *this* form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc91BAhpyMoULEi7btAwMUUXVWPlRY6_SOpf95gl6S3uNt4Sw/viewform and come to our meeting. And if you needed more convincing to join the *best* officer team around, here's what our current Treasurer Carmen Lu has to say about her work with the HWC so far this year: “Being treasurer for our Health and Wellness Club has been such an awesome experience for me. Even with no prior 'treasurer-ing' knowledge, I've enjoyed working with the other club officers to bring amazing and inspiring talks and activities to promote health and wellness in numerous ways. Getting involved may seem stressful (as it originally did for me), but when you’re working with such awesome people and for such an important cause, it’s really nothing more than a wonderful learning opportunity and the chance to get to know amazing people!”
