We’re proud to administer the UC Davis Forensic Science Graduate Program, one of just 21 FEPAC-accredited programs in the country and the only one west of Oklahoma.

From investigating mock crime scenes to studying criminalistics and forensic DNA analysis, students gain the scientific knowledge and practical experience to prepare for careers in forensic science.

When students talk about why they began their studies in the forensic science graduate program at the UC Davis, popular culture comes up a lot.

Pop culture doesn’t necessarily give an accurate picture of forensics work, of course.

The UC Davis Master of Science program in forensic science was established in 2003 to give the people who investigate crime scenes and develop evidence a thorough grounding in science and how to apply that knowledge in pursuit of justice.

In March of 2026, the program earned accreditation from FEPAC, the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission, overseen by the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.

In 2024, Ellaine Arroyo told us she saw the Public Health Certificate Program as a stepping stone toward graduate school.

Two years later, she’s taking that next step.
