Posted • Join us June 2nd for a conversation about the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) as we explore unintended consequences and some possible solutions.
SGMA was signed into law in 2014, and plans are being made by local groundwater sustainability agencies (GSAs) in the most water-scarce regions of California to comply with the regulations. We'll discuss the increased well drilling that is happening in advance of the restrictions SGMA will impose and threatening both small farmers and residential wells in rural communities and
the lack of inclusion of small-scale farmers and socially-disadvantaged farmers in the local SGMA planning and implementation process

Hello Climate Strikers!
We are excited to announce that Climate Strike Founder and Parent Juliette Beck is running for Yolo County Supervisor! This campaign is about educating and mobilizing people throughout Davis and Winters to engage in a rapid and inclusive response to the climate emergency here in the Wintun Homeland bioregion.
Marlen is also a founder of Climate Strike Davis and a coordinator of UC Davis Sunrise Hub. She has kindly stepped up to manage the campaing to lead us to victory in the June 7 election and beyond. She brings a wealth of experience, dignity, vision, integrity, skills and joy to this intergenerational movement.
We would like to officially launch our Beck for Supervisor 2022 campaign this Friday at our regularly scheduled Climate Strike, 12-1. Please join Marlen and I and stand in support of climate justice, youth empowerment and an inclusive economy. We have calculated that this is the 130th week of our Fridays for our Future climate strike at the corner of 5th and B. Yes - 130 week's straight! This calls for a CELEBRATION!
