No passports, no suitcases, just a hallway full of open doors. 🌎

To keep celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, our Broward team turned the door of each space in the center into a gateway to a different country. Flags, colors, music and traditional objects filled every corner.

At a PPEC, moments like these are part of the care. Exploring through the senses, recognizing familiar objects and taking part alongside friends all support development, communication and connection. They also make every day at Big Bear a little more joyful.

A big thank you to our team for the creativity and heart behind every door. 🧡

At Big Bear Miami, we kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month with a celebration that took us across Latin America. Each group chose a country and came dressed in traditional clothing, jerseys and colors to honor it.

We shared traditional snacks, sang songs many of our families grew up with, and danced our way through a different kind of morning.

At our PPEC, specialized care goes hand in hand with moments like these. Celebrating culture helps children connect with their roots, express themselves and feel proud of who they are, and that's part of their well-being too.

Our Broward kids celebrated Teddy Bear Day with their favorite fluffy friends! 🧸

Stories, hugs, and a classroom full of bears made it a day to remember. And while it looked like pure fun, moments like this also help children practice empathy, express emotions, and connect with their peers.

That's what a day at a PPEC looks like. Big Bear Academy is not a regular daycare: it's a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care center where children receive specialized pediatric nursing, therapies, and early learning, all in one place, surrounded by joy.

We're hiring an RN for our Broward PPEC.

A PPEC isn't a clinic or a daycare. It's a licensed medical center where children with complex needs get skilled nursing all day long, side by side with therapy, learning and play.

For a nurse, that means the same kids every day, real continuity of care, and a team that includes therapists, teachers and families.

If that's the kind of pediatric nursing you're looking for, let's talk.

The first week of school always brings a little of everything: nerves, new routines, and that first proud "look what I made."

This week our kids painted, cut and glued their way through the morning. It looks like play and it is but every snip and brushstroke is building fine motor strength, focus and the ability to follow a sequence of steps.

That's the part we love about doing school inside a PPEC. Learning and care aren't two separate things here. They happen at the same table, with the same team.

Curious how it works for your child?

Our Broward friends turned into their favorite superheroes 🦸‍♂️🕷️ A face painter joined us for the day, and watching each kid pick their design Spider-Man, Batman, you name it was pure joy.

Moments like these are part of what makes a PPEC different from typical childcare. At Big Bear Academy, therapy and skilled nursing go hand in hand with experiences that let every child just be a kid creative, excited, and celebrated for who they are.

That balance of specialized care and real childhood moments is what we build every day. 🐻
