Twice this year, our school community came together to celebrate and honor our B’nei Mitzvah students as they reached this important milestone in their Jewish journey.
While personal celebrations may take place on different dates, we recognize students in school based on their 12th birthday for girls and 13th birthday for boys. It is always a meaningful opportunity to celebrate their growth, accomplishments, and connection to Jewish tradition.
Mazel Tov to our students and their families!

For the sixth year in a row, Posnack Jewish Day School was selected to participate in Names, Not Numbers: an interactive, multi-media Holocaust film documentary project created by educator, Tova Fish-Rosenberg. This program transforms the traditional study of the Holocaust into an interactive history program focused on the survivors’ lived experiences. Eighth grade students, under the direction of Mrs. Rachel Synalovski, engaged in serious, meaningful dialogue with the survivors and forged relationships with them. Throughout the program, the students worked with professional journalists, filmmakers, and Holocaust scholars.
Posnack School is grateful for being chosen to participate in this project which is generously supported by a prominent national foundation. Posnack School gratefully acknowledges the support of the Jewish Federation of Broward County for sponsoring the program this year, as well. The support of both organizations is instrumental to the continuation of this program, and we are honored to have their partnership.

Congratulations to Posnack School student, Rebecca E. on earning the Silver Knight Award in Digital and Interactive Media for her inspiring work with Elevate Health. What began as a way to help her grandmother combat fatigue during chemotherapy has grown into a global nonprofit and digital platform that has educated more than 42,000 people across 147 countries. Through innovative technology, digital media and a passion for helping others, Rebecca created a lasting impact by developing virtual health challenges, educational resources, a podcast and a mobile app focused on improving nutritional habits worldwide. We are so proud of all she has accomplished and the difference she continues to make.
The Silver Knight Award is one of the most prestigious honors a high school senior can receive in South Florida. Presented by the Miami Herald, the award recognizes students for exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and dedication to community service in a specific field of interest. Out of hundreds of nominees from across South Florida, only 30 students are selected each year as Silver Knight recipients, making it an extraordinary and highly competitive achievement.
