As a mother raising a child on the autism spectrum, I personally know the reality of being an autism mom. There is no denying that raising a child on the spectrum, can be exhausting and overwhelming. Combine the stress of caring for our child with the day-to-day responsibilities of taking care of our families, plus IEPs, therapies and our jobs, it is downright complete stress overload. As a mom raising a child on the spectrum, I’ve had to make changes in my life in order to control the anxiety and stress brought on by the challenges. These changes have given me a new outlook on life, and an opportunity to pay it forward. As an autism strong mom, I am now able to provide a support system for the autism community to help moms find a way to feel better about themselves, without feeling alone as though their life no longer matters. Through my journey, I hope to inspire other moms to provide guidance and the tools necessary to become stronger than autism. With years of experience with my own health issues and behavioral issues with my daughter, I have gained a wealth of information on behavior strategies, mindset and health & fitness. An autism diagnosis is not about giving in to the autism life, it’s about winning and rising to become a STRONGER than autism!
