🍕🌿 A Little Slice of Nature! 🍂

Pizza making with a Forest Explorers twist!

Our little explorers put their creativity to work making nature pizzas using colorful leaves, flowers, and treasures collected from the outdoors! 🍁🌼

With a sprinkle of imagination and a handful of nature, each pizza became a one-of-a-kind masterpiece!

Just another wonderful day of learning, creating, and exploring the great outdoors! 🌳💚

🐢🌿 A Wonderful Woodland Discovery in Primary!

Our Primary students had a special surprise during outdoor exploration today when we discovered a beautiful Eastern Box Turtle! 🐢🍂

With its colorful shell and curious little face, this woodland visitor gave us a wonderful opportunity to observe nature up close, ask questions, and learn about the creatures that share our environment.

We watched as our turtle friend explored the forest floor before finding a cozy hiding spot inside a hollow log!

At Davidson Green School, some of the most memorable lessons happen right outside our classroom doors. 🌳💚

🌎🌿 Exploring Ecosystems & Biomes in Upper Elementary!

Our Upper Elementary students have been discovering how living and non-living things work together in nature! 🌱

From exploring our school’s ecosystem to collecting plants near the creek, students created their very own tiny, self-sustaining ecosystems in jars! 🫙💚

A wonderful hands-on lesson in how everything in nature is connected, no matter how small! 🌎✨

Rockmont 2026 💚

Lower Elementary headed to Camp Rockmont for their first overnight adventure of the year! From rock climbing and waterfront fun to hiking, campfires, journaling, and plenty of time in nature, our students embraced every part of the experience.

Trips like this are about so much more than adventure—they build independence, confidence, friendship, and the courage to try something new. 🌿⛰️

We are so proud of all they accomplished and the memories they made together! 💚

When the tiniest forest friend stops by to say hello. 🐞💚🌳 Big discoveries come in very small packages!

🍄 A giant discovery in the forest!

Sometimes the best lessons are the ones we stumble upon. 🌳 While exploring outdoors, our young naturalists discovered this incredible giant fungus growing at the base of a tree!

There was plenty to observe, wonder about, and investigate: How did it get so big? Why is it growing by the tree? What role do fungi play in the forest? 🍂

These unexpected discoveries are one of the joys of learning in nature—encouraging curiosity, observation, and a deeper connection with the world around us. 💚

Little explorers. Big discoveries. 🍄🌿

“Learning comes alive when little hands and curious minds can experience it for themselves. 🦋 Our Primary students have been following the incredible life cycle of the monarch—from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly.”

, replete with all the feels. 💚
We’ve had some times, DGS. Thanks for being a loving sanctuary for me and for my kids, and for more wonderful memories than I could ever toss in a fire.🔥 Keep changing the world, one kid, one problem, one song, one tiny everyday kindness at a time. 🙏🏼

On this , we honor all fields and their contributions to societies through corn, maize, wheat, football, American football, various empty pastures, (as well as oft-forgotten vector, scalar, and boolean data fields). But mostly, we honor OUR field in all its mulchy, wooded glory.
Good clean fun! Thx to our Head Of School (and birthday boy) Mr. Derek for all of the efforts in organizing!
