Med Chem MOOC

The med chem MOOC is set to launch on Monday, March 13th for the fifth time on the edX platform. The Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research continue to partner with Davidson College on the course.

Medicinal Chemistry: The Molecular Basis of Drug Discovery Gain a better understanding of the drug discovery process to learn how safe, effective drugs are developed and optimized.

The med chem MOOC wrapped up its fourth run last week. Congratulations to all the students who participated in the course. The MOOC staff hopes that the material will help everyone move forward in their careers.

Week 2 of the MOOC is set to start on Monday Oct 12th. Week 2 covers protein structure, enzymes, and receptors. There is still time to joins the course and catch up.

Medicinal Chemistry: The Molecular Basis of Drug Discovery Gain a better understanding of the drug discovery process to learn how safe, effective drugs are developed and optimized.

The Med Chem MOOC is gearing up for another run this fall. The course will have several changes (hopefully for the better), but the overall structure will be similar to the first two iterations.

Week 8 of Med Chem MOOC (http://tinyurl.com/medchemmooc) releases tomorrow. This week features student-produced lectures on four drug classes - H2 receptor antagonists, proton pump inhibitors, quinolone antibacterials, and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. We'll also continue the class-wide lead optimization project.

Medicinal Chemistry: The Molecular Basis of Drug Discovery This course explores how to bring a drug from concept to market, and how a drug's chemical structure relates to its biological function.

Week 7 of Med Chem MOOC (http://tinyurl.com/medchemmooc) releases tomorrow. This week's topic is lead optimization. We'll also have a special class task - a simulated lead discovery and optimization project.

D001x - Medicinal Chemistry - on edX has gone live. Everything is hopefully running without a hitch. I'm looking forward to the next 8 weeks.

The DavidsonX team has been putting the finishing touches on the MOOC. We're very excited about improvements that have been made to the course. We have less than 3 days until the start of the course.
