Amanda Gorman is the first African American youth poet laureate and activist from Los Angeles, California. Gorman's work focuses on issuesof oppression, feminism, race, and marginalization, as well as, the African diaspora. Her first poetry book, The One For Whom Food Is Not Enough, was published in 2015. Five stars-highly recommend.
