¡Qué orgullo!

Julia Knoerr, double Major in Hispanic Studies, and Political Science was named the 2020 Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellow from Davidson College. During the summer 2020, she adapted her original project and did research in California about Radio Indígena, the community indigenous radio station, social justice and listener’s rights amid the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Her article and blog have just been published in the VC Star newspaper on- line, and her blog on the Website of the Pulitzer Center. Both have been circulated in social media.

Titulo del artículo sobre Radio Indígena en California, radio comunitaria y la labor de la radio indígena comunitaria de informar a sus radioescuchas sobre sus derechos, publicado en California Sept 6 inglés y en español:
“Radio Indígena informs Indigenous farmworkers, seeks justice amid COVID-19 pandemic”
Radio Indígena informa a campesinos indígenas y busca justicia durante COVID-19

¡Felicidades, Julia Knoerr!

Once travel restrictions were lifted, a day in the field revealed how Radio Indígena has adapted work styles and utilized Spanish and Mixtec languages to continue reaching vulnerable populations.
