The Davidson College community showed up in full force Wednesday to welcome and move the Class of 2030 into their residence halls. It’s a tradition that has everyone from the college president and senior leaders to coaches, athletes, staff and student volunteers lugging bags, boxes and bookcases to help Wildcats settle in to their new home.

Hey incoming students and families getting ready for move-in! Overpacking? Underpacking? We’ve all been there.

In the latest My Davidson blog post, current students share a list of various items ranging from often-forgotten-basics, to interesting bits and bobbles that can add some excitement to your time at Davidson. While these items may not be necessary for everyone, they’ve elevated our students' experiences on campus, and can definitely help yours as well.

📌 Tip: While these are all great things to bring, don’t stress too much about what you pack! Many of these items are not necessities, and you will have a great time at Davidson regardless. We also highly recommend checking out Lula Bell’s Resource Center before buying anything new. They host a free store for students at the beginning of the year that typically has donated items that are on this list. There is also no shortage of stores in the area should you need to run out for a last-minute find after move-in.
