When student rock band Fool’s Errand set out to record their debut EP, Final Errand, they tapped into the strength of the Davidson College network. Thanks to student initiative and experiential grants from the Jay Hurt Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Music Department, the band brought their signature sound to Tweed Recording in Athens, Georgia.

Flying a spacecraft to the moon is a team sport, and Lauren Arkell '22 knows a bit about that. As a Davidson College women's lacrosse attacker, physics major and NASA intern, Arkell developed the skills to contribute meaningfully on the field and in the research lab.

A campus event with Davidson alum and former astronaut Tom Marshburn '82 inspired Arkell's trailblazing career path with Firefly Aerospace, where she served as flight controller for the Blue Ghost lunar lander. The mission gathered information about conditions on the moon and how they could affect future landings.
