Davidson College Dean Rusk International Studies Program The Dean Rusk International Studies Program is serving as a mechanism for expanding internationalism across the Davidson College experience.

The Dean Rusk Program embodies Davidson's belief that knowledge of other cultures and of the social, economic, political, and scientific forces that shape our world are integral to a liberal arts education. Incorporating the offices of study abroad, the international student advisor, and a grants and programming staff, the Dean Rusk Program works to give a global dimension to every student's educa

tion. In cooperation with other organizations, the program also serves as a catalyst for international education in the greater Charlotte area.

This evening, the Dean Rusk team had an absolutely wonderful time meeting with the 2026 cohort of Davidson College’s Service Odyssey! 🐾😼

What is Service Odyssey?:
“The Service Odyssey is a service-focused experience that reflects and enriches Davidson’s commitment to develop the spirit of service within each student. The program is designed to build relationships among participants, increase social awareness and challenge individuals to work constructively within a group.”

We got to share with the students about the possibilities that exist for them if they choose pursue with a Dean Rusk International Travel grant given their passion for service 👨‍🔧

We are so excited to welcome these new students to campus and look forward to working with them as we gear up for an amazing 2026-2027 academic year! 🖤♥️😼

📣 Are you considering applying for a Dean Rusk winter travel grant? ✈️ You are required to meet with one of the Dean Rusk advisors as part of the application process and to ensure that your proposal is considered by the IEC.

We are offering drop-in office hours via Zoom starting in July all the way through to the start of classes for you to come speak with us about your ideas and overall application! Take advantage of this and stop by at one of the times 🕕 listed above.

Among many distinguished positions, Fritz has served as vice consul in Guangzhou and Chengdu in China and Guayaquil in Ecuador as well as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs. Enjoy the chance for conversation about his experiences & your career path! 💼
