❤️ Honoring HIV Long-Term Survivors Day ❤️

Today, we recognize and celebrate HIV Long-Term Survivors Day, a day dedicated to honoring the strength, resilience, and courage of individuals who have lived with HIV for decades.

Long-term survivors have witnessed tremendous changes—from a time when an HIV diagnosis was often viewed as a death sentence to an era where treatment allows people to live long, healthy, and fulfilling lives. Their stories are a testament to perseverance, advocacy, and hope.

This day is important because it reminds us of the sacrifices, losses, and challenges experienced by those who paved the way for advancements in HIV treatment, care, and policy. It also shines a light on the unique needs of aging individuals living with HIV, including physical health, mental wellness, social support, and continued access to quality care.

As we honor long-term survivors, let us also commit to listening to their stories, learning from their experiences, and ensuring they remain visible, valued, and supported.

To every long-term survivor: Thank you for your courage. Thank you for your advocacy. Thank you for showing the world what resilience looks like.
Together, we continue the fight against stigma, celebrate progress, and work toward a future where everyone affected by HIV can thrive.

After powerful conversations across Florida, the 45 Minutes in Saving Ourselves Town Hall Tour is making its final stop in Fort Lauderdale!

Our last town hall promises to be our biggest yet, and we're expecting a packed house as community members, advocates, healthcare professionals, leaders, and residents come together to discuss the issues that matter most to our communities.

The momentum from Eatonville—the oldest historically Black incorporated municipality in Florida—was truly inspiring. We witnessed honest, courageous, and solution-focused conversations about health equity, HIV prevention and treatment, access to care, stigma, and the importance of investing in our communities. The voices shared in Eatonville reminded us that meaningful change happens when we come together, listen, and take action.

Now it's Fort Lauderdale's turn.

Join us as we close out this incredible statewide tour with an evening of dialogue, empowerment, and community-driven solutions. Together, we can continue building healthier futures, strengthening access to care, and ensuring that our voices are heard.

The momentum is building, and we are beyond excited for the upcoming 45-minute Town Hall in Eatonville, Florida! After an incredible turnout in Tallahassee where the room was packed to capacity, we know this next conversation will be just as powerful.

Tallahassee showed us what happens when community truly comes together. We welcomed representation from CBOs, CHDs, youth organizations, advocates, up-and-coming artists, young adults, authors, mechanics, hair dressers, insurance brokers, healthcare leaders, persons living with HIV, and so many passionate members who all came together with one goal - strengthening our communities and improving health outcomes for all.

We were even honored to have a gubernatorial candidate in attendance, listening directly to the voices of the people and engaging in meaningful conversation about the issues impacting our communities most.

The 45-Minute Town Hall is more than just a meeting-it's a movement. A space where real conversations happen, barriers are addressed, and solutions are built together. Eatonville, we are coming with a purpose, passion, and a commitment to ensuring every voice matters.

Today, we recognize Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day — a day dedicated to raising awareness, promoting education, reducing stigma, and strengthening support for Asian and Pacific Islander communities impacted by HIV.

This observance reminds us that HIV can affect anyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or background. It is important that we continue creating culturally responsive, inclusive, and compassionate spaces where individuals feel safe accessing testing, prevention, treatment, and care services.

Education, open dialogue, and community engagement are essential in breaking stigma and improving health outcomes. Together, we can continue empowering communities, promoting health equity, and ensuring everyone has access to the care and support they deserve.

Let us continue standing together in awareness, advocacy, and action.

Today, we recognize National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day — a day to honor the scientists, researchers, healthcare professionals, advocates, and community volunteers working tirelessly toward the development of a safe and effective HIV vaccine.

For more than four decades, HIV has impacted millions of lives across the world. While advancements in treatment and prevention have transformed HIV care, the search for a vaccine remains one of the most important public health efforts of our time.

This day also reminds us of the importance of community participation, education, clinical trials, and continued investment in HIV research. Progress happens because individuals are willing to stand together, advocate, and participate in the fight to end HIV.

We thank everyone involved in advancing science, reducing stigma, and creating hope for future generations.

Together, we move closer to a world without HIV.

Jacksonville was an absolute blast! The conversations, connections, and community engagement were truly powerful.

Now, we head to the highest of the Seven Hills — Tallahassee, FL! We look forward to continuing these important conversations around HIV advocacy, treatment access, prevention, and community collaboration.
