Joel works with entrepreneurs and small business owners throughout Clinton, Jackson, Muscatine and Scott counties, helping them navigate challenges, find opportunities and build stronger businesses.

A new semester starts with a new beginning! 🎉📚

This week, we welcomed new students to our Muscatine campus for New Student Orientation. Students had the chance to learn more about campus, connect with resources, meet new people, and get ready for their first day of classes.

Now the countdown is on—Fall classes start Monday! 🍂

A lasting tribute to two leaders who gave decades of service to EICC and the communities we serve.

This week, Eastern Iowa Community Colleges officially dedicated The Vetter Board Room in honor of Ellis Vetter and his son, Bill Vetter. Together, Ellis and Bill served more than five decades on the EICC Board of Trustees, helping guide the college and expand opportunities for students throughout our region.

Family, friends, and members of the EICC community gathered for the dedication and to celebrate a legacy that will continue to be part of EICC for years to come.

Students are settling into Nyweide-Scott Hall at our Muscatine campus, and we’re excited to welcome everyone home for the fall semester!

Safety does not happen by accident. It takes planning, employee involvement, and training that fits the work.

Clausen Companies was recognized by Acuity Insurance for Outstanding Safety Performance in 2025, earning its first warehouse safety recognition and its sixth fleet safety recognition since 2019.

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges worked with Clausen to provide customized safety training, flexible scheduling, and support accessing Iowa 260E and 260F training funds.

College classes, career training, and community education—closer to home. 📚

This fall, EICC is bringing even more learning opportunities to Maquoketa and DeWitt.

Whether you want to earn college credit, build skills for your career, explore short-term training, or simply learn something new, you may not have to travel far to get started.

📍 In Maquoketa, choose from courses like College Algebra, Psychology, Sociology, Public Speaking, Anatomy and Physiology, and more.

📍 In DeWitt, opportunities range from college courses and Career Academies to Phlebotomy, CPR, workforce training, P-Tech, and more.

Fall classes begin Aug. 24, and there’s still time to register!

You don’t have to grow up on a farm to build a future in agriculture. 🌾🎓

Kylie Daily came to EICC with a lifelong love of agriculture and left with an associate’s degree in Farm Management, four internships under her belt, hands-on experience, new confidence, and a much clearer picture of where her future could take her.

Along the way, she worked on farms, traveled to Montana for an internship, competed in livestock judging, got involved in agricultural organizations, learned to drive a tractor—and stepped up to the podium as a commencement speaker.

Her story is a reminder that sometimes you don’t need to have your entire future mapped out. You just need a place to start.

“I’ve been in love with agriculture ever since I was a kid.” 🌾

Kylie Daily didn’t grow up on a farm—and for a while, she didn’t think college was in her future. But her passion for agriculture gave her a reason to take that next step.

Now, she’s an EICC graduate with an associate’s degree in Farm Management, four internship experiences, new skills, greater confidence, and plans to put her education to work.

🎥 Hear Kylie talk about finding her place in agriculture, getting outside her comfort zone, and why she wants other students to know their hard work will pay off.
