Save The Date!

Event: Say Good-bye to our Sixties party!

When: November 16, from 6:00-12:00 (party is over by midnight)

Where: The Starlite Ballroom, MVFair

Why: To celebrate the arrival of our ‘70’s, to raise some funds for the River Music Experience (RME) Jim DeCosta Scholarship fund, and because we want to throw a party!

Band: Live music from 7-11, 50 Shades of Rock (can be found on Facebook). This is a popular, local group for whom Fred Classon has done sound for the past few years. Their song selections will cover a wide variety from the 50’s to present.

Who: This is not an official reunion party, but fellow members of the class of ’67 are cordially invited to attend, and your presence would be greatly appreciated. Many local friends also have been invited. Anyone who is about to become 70, anyone who already has become 70, or anyone who knows someone who is about to become 70 or someone who has already become 70, is invited.

Cost: Free. A donation to the RME is requested but not required. Two 50/50 drawings will be held also to benefit the RME. You must be present to win.
Cash Bar!

Food: Not Likely! Maybe some chips and/or popcorn, but no prepared food. (Too expensive to have it catered and we are not allowed to provide our own prepared food for liability reasons.)

Details: The RME provides musical opportunities for the youth of this area. Jim DeCosta was a consummate musician in the Quad City area, known and loved by all who had the opportunity to work with him or enjoy his music. Jim’s family set up the scholarship to honor his memory and carry on the legacy of Jim’s love for music. (The goal is to raise as much as is possible for the scholarship fund!)

We are looking forward to seeing you and to catching up with all who are able to attend.
