This week, we’re shining the spotlight on our second graders! They have been busy learning both inside and outside the classroom. Our second graders enjoyed a field trip to Wapsi, where they had the opportunity to take their learning outdoors. They also welcomed local firefighters to Jackson to learn important lessons about fire safety. Back in the classroom, students are strengthening their writing skills by learning to write in complete sentences and paragraph format. They are also practicing how to use quotation marks correctly in their writing. We love seeing these young writers grow!

📚 Fourth Grade Learning Spotlight

Our fourth graders are digging into some exciting learning this quarter! Science: Students are learning about the human brain and nervous system, including how our nervous system receives, processes, and responds to sensory signals. Math: Students are working with place value and refreshing their skills with adding and subtracting multi-digit whole numbers. Literacy: Fourth graders recently completed their Personal Narrative Unit. Students wrote their own personal narratives with a focus on paragraph structure, multi-paragraph writing, and using proper writing conventions.

Be sure to check out the pictures below to see our fourth graders in action!
