PCPS and the Polk Education Foundation are recognizing finalists from all seven districts, and the overall winners will be announced at the Inspire Awards presented by MIDFLORIDA Credit Union. The Inspire Awards will be held on Nov. 6 at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
During the event, finalists will be recognized with video tributes and receive sponsored gifts. The Teacher of the Year and School-Related Employee of the Year will receive a cash prize generously donated by title sponsor MIDFLORIDA Credit Union. "

See below for a Notice of Security Screening with Middle School Students conducted this morning (9/15/26)

Hello,

We wanted to make you aware that Bella Citta Middle in grades 6-8 conducted a random safety screening of Bus Riders students today.

Polk County Public Schools utilizes random weapon and contraband screenings as proactive safety measure at middle and high schools throughout the district. During these screenings, school and district staff members use handheld metal detector wands or walk-through devices to briefly and randomly screen students, along with their backpacks and purses.

These random screenings are part of our ongoing commitment to maintain a safe, secure learning environment and act as a deterrent to ensure prohibited items are kept off our campus.

Please note that students should have clear plastic water bottles as part of school policy. Parents may pick up confiscated items in the elementary school office.

Please contact a school administrator or dean if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in keeping our students and staff safe.
