Helpful Kindergarten Prep Tip #4: Please work with your Kindergarten student on being able to independently and quickly exit the vehicle in the car line drop off. This helps us keep our line moving efficiently.

Helpful Kindergarten Prep Tip #3: Opening a milk carton can be tricky at first. Please show your students the arrow that shows the correct spot to open the carton.

If they need help, students can raise their hand to get an adult’s attention.

Helpful Kindergarten Prep Tip #2: Help prepare your incoming Kindergartener for school lunch by teaching them the safest way to walk with their lunch. Whether it’s a lunch tray or a lunch “boat” they use, students should always use two hands to carry their lunch.

This includes when they are walking to their assigned lunch table and when they are walking to the garbage cans.

Helpful Kindergarten Prep Tip #1: Help prepare your incoming Kindergartener for school lunch by teaching them the “pinch-pinch-pull” method for opening packaging. This will help them to be more independent during lunch and ready to eat right away!
