Learning beyond the classroom!

Over the past two weeks, our elementary students have been busy exploring, discovering, creating, and connecting with the world around them! From farms and markets to museums, theaters, and caves, every trip brought new opportunities to learn through real-world experiences.

📍 Butler’s Farm
🎭 Imagination Stage
📮 The Post Office
🛍️ Kentlands Market
🎨 Baltimore Museum of Art
💎 Crystal Grottoes

We love seeing our students’ curiosity come alive as they make connections, ask questions, and learn through experience. So many adventures, so much learning! 🦊🌎

Last Friday, our halls were filled with school spirit as our little foxes showed off their Foxes spirit wear and school colors! From preschool through elementary, our students brought so much energy, smiles, and school pride to Spirit Day. 🦊✨

We even had a special guest during carpool 🦊

While today’s Homecoming celebration had to be cancelled due to the weather, we’re so glad we had the chance to celebrate together last Friday.

Thank you to our wonderful students, families, and our special Fox guest for helping make Spirit Day such a fun and memorable day! Go Foxes💫

This week, our 2s and 3s had their very first Spanish lessons! We’re so excited that, this year, Seneca Academy has introduced Spanish to our youngest learners, giving them the opportunity to discover a new language from an early age.

At this age, learning a language is all about curiosity, connection, and having fun. Through songs, stories, movement, and play, children can naturally explore new sounds and words while building confidence and developing a love for language.

And what better way to start than with lots of singing, a story, and a little dancing? Our little learners had so much fun getting their first taste of Spanish—and there were plenty of smiles along the way! 🦊💫

¡Qué bonito comienzo! We can’t wait for all the Spanish adventures

From our classrooms to the museum! 💫

We are incredibly proud to celebrate two of our former alumni, Carina Araujo and Joey Mooreales, who have both been selected to be showcased at the Museum of Illusions in Washington, D.C. as emerging artists!

We’re especially excited to highlight Carina, whose artistic journey at Seneca began with authoring and illustrating a series of stories and culminated with an amazing PYP Exhibition project researching gender equality in the arts. Through her work, she used her creativity and artistic voice to explore meaningful questions and spark important conversations.

And a huge congratulations to Joey as well on this exciting achievement! We are thrilled to see both of our former students continuing to grow, create, and make their mark in the arts.

Congratulations, Carina and Joey! We can’t wait to see what you create next! 🎨💫

Our Third Grade students explored identity and self-expression through art! 🎨

They created self-portraits inspired by Minecraft characters, using shapes, colors, and details to show parts of their personality and what makes them unique. This project connects to our unit as students think about different ways art can be used to express who we are.

We can’t wait to see all of their unique Minecraft-inspired creations. 🦊💫

Celebrating What Makes Us Unique!

As part of their Cultures unit, our second graders explored friendship, uniqueness, and the gifts we each bring to our classroom community after reading The Rainbow Fish.

Students painted their own Rainbow Fish and reflected on a special gift they could share with each classmate. During a special sharing ceremony, they exchanged their gifts and added their scales to their fish.

A beautiful reminder that we are all unique, we all have gifts to share, and together we create a stronger community. 🦊💫

Little hands, big creativity! 🎨🦊

Our preschoolers are strengthening their fine motor skills through painting, drawing, playdough, and gluing. Each activity helps build hand strength, coordination, focus, and confidence while giving children the freedom to explore, create, and express themselves.
