Mrs. Hardy's Digital Art & Design students are putting the Elements of Design into action! Students began their Elements of Design Cube Project by sketching original ideas, then recreated and refined their designs digitally in Adobe Illustrator.

They also learned how to use XPen drawing tablets, giving them more control and precision as they create artwork specific to each element of design.
It’s exciting to watch their ideas move from pencil and paper to polished digital artwork!

We continue to experience AT&T phone issues at all of our buildings and schools in the Darlington area. Our phone service is also experiencing interruptions at Bay Road Elementary School and Lamar-Spaulding Elementary School. AT&T is on site working to resolve the issues this morning, and we hope service will be restored soon.

Agent Berg from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) visited Mr. Beasley's Agriculture class this week to discuss careers with SCDNR and provided insights on state hunting and boating laws.

The Darlington County Institute of Technology (DCIT) is a Career and Technical Center serving Darlington High School, Hartsville High School, Mayo High School for Math, Science and Technology, and Lamar High School students in the Darlington County School District (DCSD). DCIT opened in 2006 and offers tenth through twelfth grade high school students over 15 different programs of study. Many of our students receive on the job training through internships with local companies and are eventually hired full time after graduation. DCIT is excited to create tomorrow's experts for the workforce in Darlington County and beyond.

AT&T is working to resolve the situation now. In the meantime, if you need to contact the district office or schools in Darlington, please try to use email. We hope service is restored as soon as possible.

Recently, representatives from P*e Dee AHEC allowed our Foundations of Healthcare students to use VR headsets to see what it might be like to work in a healthcare field. Thank you to P*e Dee AHEC for stopping by to engage with our students and expose them to future career opportunities.
