The Hornet Drumline played tonight at the Westin Hotel in Lombard tonight for the Crescent Hotel conference. Thanks to Torrez Watson for inviting us to perform. Proud of Collin Carlisle, Kathy Sanders, Eli Sadowski, Abi Rios-Tejada, Beck Cross, Kenny Mahl, Patrick Thomas, Jaden Nwakamma, Anna Garduno. It was a special treat to perform with Alums Eric Fournier and Jeremy Fung tonight. As always, Mr. Plate is our leader and glad to have his expertise. Way to go Hornets!

Our combined symphonic band performed at Hammerschmidt Chapel at Elmhurst University this morning. I really enjoy and appreciate the Elmhurst Band Festival and want to thank Adam Kehl for arranging the day. Good job Hornets!

Our goal this year in band was to emphasize more individual practice. The students helped create some wall art by writing the word ‘practice’ in either languages they speak at home or languages they would like to speak. With the help of ChatGPT, we created a poster for our band room. Enjoy.

Boston Desmond, Kesi Houar, & Jack Polacek had a great experience at the Illinois Music Educators performance at the end of January. This is a challenging level to get to and with hard work and determination, these students did a wonderful job representing Hinsdale South.

Pep Band season wrapped up and we had a great time supporting our basketball teams with our music. We also got a chance to see some of our alumni come back!

Hey Hornet Alumni!
Hinsdale South Band will be hosting another Alumni Pep Band Night on January 13, 2026. Call time is 5:00pm so we can play a few of the classics you used to play when you were Hornet Band Members. Spread the word! Boys Basketball will be playing Proviso.

Holiday Winds had a great performance today for our South students. The volunteer ensemble performed while students enjoyed hot chocolate with the hornet.
