Welcome to Kingswood's 2026-27 school year!

Today begins the first full week of school for our Golden Knights. We are so blessed to welcome all of our students back--this will be an incredible year! In fact, it is our 30th Anniversary this year!

We welcomed our families in our Mary Garden on the first day back and at our school picnic that weekend. Thank you to everyone who made these possible--our Kingswood Academy Parent Association and families brought everything together as always!

Thank you to the Zaborski family for the beautiful banner commemorating this momentous milestone.

Stay tuned for more information on how we plan to celebrate. Here's to 30 more great years of forming saints and staying true to the magisterium of the Catholic faith!

Happy Independence Day from Kingswood Academy. May God watch over you, your family, and this great nation.

"Lord, God of all nations, we come before You today with hearts full of gratitude for the blessings of freedom, peace, and prosperity You have bestowed upon our beloved country.

We pray for our President, our lawmakers, our judges, and all who hold positions of public trust. Grant them the wisdom to govern with integrity, a deep respect for human dignity, and a commitment to the common good.

Protect the sanctity of human life, defend the marginalized, and heal the divisions that threaten our communities. Instill in every citizen a spirit of patriotism, civic responsibility, and goodwill toward all.

Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Patroness of the Americas, pour out Your Holy Spirit upon our land. May this nation always strive to be a beacon of justice, truth, and charity.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen."

A blast from the past! Former Principal Ms. Lisa Grundon, who served at Kingswood Academy for 10 years, recently visited us to walk the building and relive some of her memories. Ms. Grundon was Principal when Kingswood was still located in the local Korean Baptist Church and was there for five years in our current building.

It was great for her to meet our current Head of School, Mr. Dominic Sepich, and have them swap stories and ideas. Additionally, Mrs. Marcela Manrique, Mrs. Alexandra LoCascio (who was still Ms. Bruno at the time!), and Mrs. Laurie De Bella (formerly Ms. Dastych!) worked with Lisa for those ten years and were able to reconnect.

Thank you for visiting us, Lisa! You are always welcome to stop by any time if you ever want to escape the Arizona heat!

Yesterday, former Mayor of Lisle Mr. Christopher Pecak, stopped by Kingswood Academy's summer camp lunch and graciously donated a "250 Years of America" flag to our school! Thank you, Mr. Mayor, for demonstrating the virtues of generosity and patriotism to our students!

In nearby Bartlett, an EF-1 tornado struck. Trees uprooted, debris spread, Our Mother unmoved. As the faith has always taught, Our Blessed Mother is time and time again unshaken. Seek recourse to her!

"Am I not here, I, who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Do not let anything worry you or disturb you."
-Our Lady of Guadalupe to Juan Diego

A statue of the Virgin Mary was left untouched when an EF-1 tornado ripped through a suburban Bartlett neighborhood, even uprooting multiple trees and scattering debris nearby.

On June 12th, the Universal Church celebrated the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

In a historic move, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops consecrated our nation to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus to commemorate the United State's 250th anniversary.

Fr. Michael Baker, pastor of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Parish, similarly consecrated our school, Kingswood Academy. Fr. Baker and members of our staff recited the formal act of consecration to officially place our school under His spiritual authority. Below is a parchment of the act of consecration which will be framed and displayed in our school to commemorate this momentous occasion.

At all levels, Jesus is King--locally, nationally, and universally.

Cor Iesu Sacratissimum, miserere nobis. Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

As a classically inspired school, Kingswood Academy's curriculum focuses on teaching students how to reason and think critically by exposing children to the greatest minds in Western thought and literature.

Mrs. Liz Cipriano, our 2nd grade teacher, demonstrates this commitment in her classroom daily through classroom liturgies and her use of poetry, fine art, read alouds, and song. Recently, Mrs. Cipriano has, in addition to her full-time teaching at Kingswood, accepted an offer to be the Director of the Elementary Education Essentials certificate program at the Logres Institute (https://www.logresinstitute.org/). She will be overseeing classes geared for elementary teachers and future homeschooling parents.

There are additional certificate programs for professional development so that others may "get the education their college should have given them," including courses on C.S. Lewis, Western Civilization, and the Great Books. Read more about the great work the Logres Institute is doing here: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/particular-pedagogy-logres-great-conversation-logres-institute-2ttze

Congratulations, Mrs. Cipriano! Thank you for living out Kingswood's commitment to classically inspired education. Prayers for you in this new endeavor!

This past Friday, Kingswood Academy families and friends visited The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion, the only Vatican-approved Marian apparition site in the United States. What a blessing that Our Lady appeared so close to us!

It is a humble and holy place, just like Kingswood. Consider a trip there this summer--you may find yourself receiving special graces from Our Blessed Mother. https://championshrine.org/

Our school's prayer campaign through Our Lady of Champion is for the growth and future of Kingswood. Our goal is 250,000 prayers! Our students and staff pray it each day before school. Join us in praying it as a community, and add it to our tracker. https://forms.gle/iTwYWmL1R2ooLL61A

Our Lady of Champion, ora pro nobis!
