A wonderful Solution Tree conference on PLCs to get the summer started for a few of our DHS faculty members. What a fun couple of days full of collaboration and learning.

Daphne High School is proud to announce the appointment of Jason Reid as the new Head Coach for the Ladies Soccer Program. He has been a passionate educator for 27 years in both Mobile and Baldwin Counties, teaching Health, Physical Education, and currently Driver and Traffic Safety. Coach Reid and his coaching staff are excited about the “new beginning” ahead for the Lady Trojan Soccer Team in the 2026–2027 season.
Coach Reid is no stranger to Daphne Trojan Athletics. He began coaching at DHS during the Spring soccer season of 2020. Hired as an assistant to help change the culture of the men’s soccer program, he rolled up his sleeves and embraced the challenge.
“I believe creating the right culture for both a program and the individual student-athlete that makes up the program is essential for building a solid foundation for future success. Culture is built through the understanding and application of GRIT—Gratitude, Responsibility, Integrity, and Tenacity. When student-athletes begin to apply these principles in their everyday lives, lives change.”
In 2020, the men’s soccer program ended a season cut short due to COVID, but not before posting a 7-5-1 record and moving into first place in 6A Area 2. In 2021, building on that foundation, the team advanced to the 7A State Final Four. In both 2022 and 2023, the men’s soccer program won back-to-back 7A State Championships.
During the 2022–2023 school year, Coach Reid was also asked to assist with wrestling at Daphne High School. Continuing the winning culture already established, he contributed to a season that ended with a 7A Girls Wrestling State Runner-up finish. The 2023–2024 season brought a 7A Girls Wrestling State Championship, along with National Assistant Coaching Staff of the Year honors. The 2024–2025 season concluded with another strong showing as 6A–7A State Runner-up. Most recently, the 2025–2026 Girls Wrestling team captured the 6A–7A State Championship and earned Alabama State Assistant Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Coach Reid has been married to his wife, Tonja, for 21 years, and together they have three sons: Landon, Lane, and Landry. He enjoys serving at CityHope Church, watching his sons compete in ECNL-RL soccer, watching sports (Roll Tide), and spending time with family and friends—whether on vacation or at dinner. At the end of the day, his faith, family, and friends are the foundation of his love, strength, and encouragement.
“I am humbled and excited about this new chapter that is in store for our Lady Trojan soccer program. Go Trojans!”
