Polygence is thrilled to offer local in-person research opportunities in California through partnerships with Envision by WorldStrides, Summer Discovery, and BioCurious, a community biology lab in the Bay Area.
Together, these experiences combine the energy of an immersive campus environment with the depth of a mentored research project, creating a transformative pathway for student growth.
Students can choose from immersive career tracks in Medicine & Healthcare, Engineering, or Business Innovation. Over 8-12 days, they’ll experience college life and dive into hands-on activities-from clinical simulations and engineering challenges to startup building and business strategy. Designed for motivated 9th-12th graders, these on-campus programs lead into a Polygence research project where students are matched one-on-one with a PhD candidate mentor uniquely qualified to guide them in their chosen topic.

Good news! The 2026–27 FAFSA has launched
The Department of Education (ED) officially launched the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2026–27 academic year a week early. The launch came after a successful beta testing period in August.
What does this mean for students?
Earlier access: Students and families can complete the form now, giving them earlier access to financial aid information.
Positive feedback: Beta testing yielded strong results, with 97% of users satisfied and 90% reporting a reasonable completion time. We anticipate a smooth and effective start to the new application cycle.
Challenges for mixed-status families: ED has not yet provided a permanent solution to identity verification issues, which continues to pose a challenge for these families when attempting to file the FAFSA and privacy concerns.
