In partnership with Averett University’s Center for Community Engagement and Career Competitiveness, Haven of the Dan River Region is hosting the “Voice Line Project” during the month of April to raise awareness of violence against women, men, and children. The voice lines will consist of decorated shirts to honor and give voice to survivors and act as a memorial for victims as well as serve as a visual aid in the healing process for those who have been affected. The colors symbolize:

Purple – domestic violence awareness

Teal – sexual assault awareness

Blue – childhood violence awareness

The Ember is accepting submissions for the 2020-2021 academic year! Cash prizes are available!
Submissions are due by February 3, 2021.
