Danville Future is getting ready for the 2026–2027 season! We’re looking for boys and girls in 2nd–5th grade who want to compete, develop their game, and have fun playing basketball.

In Discover Lab, our third graders became engineers for the day! Students were challenged to design and construct a bridge using only index cards and tape.
Their mission was to:
📏 Build a bridge that was at least 7 inches long
🌉 Create a bridge strong enough to hold 7 crayons
🖍️ Add one crayon at a time to test the bridge’s stability
⏰ Work together to solve the challenge in 40 minutes
Students had to plan, build, test, and redesign their structures while thinking like real engineers. They learned that engineers don't always get it right the first time—failure is part of the design process!

This morning, students had their first “choice time” during SEL (social emotional learning time). Students had a choice to draw/color, build with blocks, play Uno or build puzzles together. It’s a time for us to work on the Portrait of a Danville Learner skills. Today, we focused on being a productive collaborator and effective communicator. This is Mrs. Carpenter’s 4th grade class. They did an amazing job! 💙⚓️💙

Our fifth graders are learning about a “fair test” and a “variable” in Science.

They are taking six solids from the kitchen ingredients and mixing them with water and vinegar to see the reaction.

3rd grade students used teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills to help Jimothy the raccoon turn over the garbage can. They had to work together to complete the challenge without touching the cup, Jimothy, or the beam, and they were limited to using only four paper clips.
