🥋 If your belt could tell your story, what would it say?

💙 Every stripe, every promotion, and every new belt represents something that can’t be bought or rushed.

💪 It reflects the classes you almost skipped but didn’t. The techniques that took weeks to understand. The tough rounds that made you better. The moments when quitting seemed easier than showing up, but you came back anyway.

🥋 In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, your belt is more than a color around your waist. It’s a reminder that growth comes from consistency, patience, and the willingness to keep learning.

🥋 Last week’s Open Mat was another great one!

Great training, tough rounds, and plenty of smiles at the end. That’s what Open Mat is all about, pushing each other to improve while enjoying time on the mats together.

🤝 It’s always great to see everyone come together, share good rolls, and finish the day with a group photo, tired, sweaty, and smiling.

💙 We’re already looking forward to the next one!

🥋 The fastest way to improve is to learn from someone who’s already been there.

💪 No matter your age or experience level, trying to figure everything out on your own is the slowest path to progress. A great instructor helps you avoid mistakes, refine your technique, and develop skills that would take much longer to build on your own.

🥋 In the classes led by Professor Ryan Thomas, students have the opportunity to learn directly from someone who has dedicated years to studying and teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Every explanation, every demonstration, and every piece of guidance reflects his commitment to helping students improve in the best way possible.

👊 That commitment to high-quality instruction is one of the pillars of Ryan Thomas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is shared by every member of our coaching team.

🥋 What your teen learns today can shape the adult they become tomorrow.

📱 Today’s teenagers are growing up in a world full of distractions, constant screen time, and pressures that previous generations never had to face. That’s why having a healthy environment where they can challenge themselves has never been more important.

💪 At Ryan Thomas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, teens learn much more than takedowns and submissions. Every training session teaches that results require dedication, mistakes are part of the learning process, and progress comes from showing up, training, and trying again the next day.

👨‍👩‍👦 For parents, there’s real peace of mind in knowing that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu becomes an ally in raising their children. The values taught on the mats reinforce what families work to teach at home, helping teens grow into more responsible, committed, and respectful young adults.

🥋 The lessons learned during the teenage years often become values they will carry for the rest of their lives.

🥋 Schedule a FREE Trial Week and give your teen the opportunity to experience everything Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can add to their life.

🥋 What an incredible weekend for the Ryan Thomas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team!

At the recent Fuji BJJ Tournament in Terre Haute, Indiana, our students represented our academy with courage, dedication, and outstanding sportsmanship. No matter the color of the medal, every athlete came home with something even more valuable: more experience, greater confidence, and the certainty that every hour spent training is worth it. The results are simply a reflection of the hard work and commitment built on the mats every single day.

🌟 Among our young athletes, Corbin earned a bronze medal. Cassian brought home silver in the junior division. Maddison had an outstanding performance, winning gold in gi and bronze in no-gi. Leilani shined by earning three silver medals, once again demonstrating her determination and continued growth as a competitor.

💪 Our adult team also delivered an incredible performance. Coach Carl won gold in no-gi and silver in gi. Wesley Patton dominated his divisions, bringing home two gold medals. Stephen Lorenzen went 3-1 and earned bronze in the adult heavyweight no-gi division. Lexi captured gold in her division, then chose to move up and compete against opponents approximately 25 pounds heavier, where she earned an impressive silver medal.

👏 Congratulations to all of our athletes and to the families who stood by them throughout the tournament. This video is our way of honoring each of you and recognizing the hard work, dedication, and courage you demonstrated at the Fuji BJJ Tournament. The Ryan Thomas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu family is incredibly proud of every one of you.

🧒Why kids need to solve problems on the mats👧

🥋 In Jiu-Jitsu, kids do not just learn techniques. They learn how to think, adjust, and find answers when things do not go exactly as planned.

🧠 Every roll becomes a small problem to solve. Where should I move? How can I escape? What can I try next? Little by little, children learn to stay calm, make decisions, and trust their own ability to figure things out.

💙 At Ryan Thomas BJJ, we believe this kind of learning goes far beyond the mats. Because when kids learn to solve problems in training, they become more confident facing challenges in life too.

🥋 This Saturday, we’ll have a very special reason to tune into the UFC.

👊 Ezra Elliot began training at Ryan Thomas Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, where he earned his blue belt before moving to Arizona to train at The MMA Lab and pursue his professional MMA career. This Saturday, he’ll make his UFC debut at UFC Oklahoma City after accepting a fight on just a few days’ notice.

🏆 A native of Hoopeston, Illinois, Ezra was an Illinois State Wrestling Champion before transitioning to MMA. Since turning professional, he has compiled an undefeated 7-0 record, finishing every opponent he has faced, including five submissions and two knockouts.

🔥 His most recent first-round knockout victory helped earn him this incredible opportunity. On Saturday, he’ll face fellow undefeated prospect Damien Anderson in the biggest fight of his career.

💙 We couldn’t be prouder to have been a part of Ezra’s development. From the wrestling mats of Illinois to the UFC Octagon, his success is a testament to years of hard work, discipline, and dedication.

👏 Good luck, Ezra Elliott ! Your entire RTBJJ family will be cheering you on this Saturday.
