🦅 ⚕ Careers in Medical Laboratories at BCMS
Today in Careers Class, Boyle County Middle School students explored careers in medical laboratories with Taylor from the Southern Kentucky Area Health Education Center!

Taylor brought learning to life with a fun, hands-on DNA Necklace activity. Students learned how DNA can be isolated from their own cheek cells and then used that DNA to create a wearable necklace.

Hands-on learning. Real-world careers. Future possibilities!

We are so thankful to Taylor and the Southern Kentucky Area Health Education Center for giving our students an exciting look into careers in the medical laboratory field!

🦅 🥎 CALLING ALL SOFTBALL PLAYERS! BCMS Softball coaches are offering open field dates for those athletes who plan to try out for 2027 BCMS Softball Team. These open fields are NOT mandatory and have NO affect on your ability to try out in February. These open fields are just an opportunity for those who are thinking about trying out to come and meet the coaches and work on fundamentals.

OPEN FIELD DATES:
When? Sept 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th
Where? Boyle County High School softball field
What time? 5:30p - 7p

If you plan to attend open fields in preparation for the 2027 softball season please complete the Google Form that is found on our school news page.

Thank You, Jacob Tamme!

A huge thank you to our community partner, Jacob Tamme, for spending time with Boyle County Middle School students! Mr. Tamme shared his career journey and gave our students valuable knowledge about investing and financial literacy.

His encouragement, wisdom, and genuine investment in our students is invaluable. We are so grateful for community partners who take the time to inspire our students and help them see the possibilities for their future.

8th Grade Advanced Science students took on the challenge of developing testable questions based on outdoor observations. They then designed experiments that could be used to test their questions and evaluated their classmates’ experimental designs.
