Attention all Educators!!!

The Christina Sue Lilja Resource Grants provide funding for PreK–12 educators to purchase agriculture-related books and resources that help students learn more about the world around them.

Nine teachers willingly gave up three precious summer days to spend time learning about ways to bring more agriculture into their classrooms. And we did it all! Lesson plans, games, sourdough, fresh noodle making, floral arranging, plus spent a whole day at Kennekuk.

A huge thank you to Taylor at Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom and Pearl from IL Corn for bringing us engaging lessons; Joe and Lorna from Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Laura from Vermilion County Conservation District for a lovely day at Kennekuk County Park; and Vermilion County Farm Bureau for hosting us. Treasured Roots & Specialty Gifts hooked us up with some beautiful flowers and Casey's in Gifford provided us with boxes to make solar ovens to cook smores. Plus Monica at STLDairyCouncil provided so many cool resource and grant opportunities!
It was a fantastic few days!
