We had some very special visitors at Children’s House today! 🚔💙

The Danville Police Department stopped by to talk with our kiddos about the important work they do and how they help keep everyone in our community safe. The officers shared what their job looks like day to day, how they help people, and why being kind, brave, and responsible matters so much.

Our students loved getting to ask questions, see their uniforms up close, and learn that police officers are real-life helpers in our town! It was such a fun and meaningful experience for everyone.

We are so thankful for the time they took to visit us and for all they do to protect and serve our community. 💙🚓

🚒🔥 Community Helpers Week – Firefighters! 🔥🚒

Today at Children’s House, we had an exciting visit from Firefighter Poteat with the Danville Fire Department!

Our students learned all about how firefighters help keep our community safe. Firefighter Poteat talked with the children about fire safety, what to do in an emergency, and how important it is to listen carefully and stay calm.

The highlight of the day? 🚨 Getting to see a real fire truck up close with the bright lights flashing! The children were amazed by all the equipment and tools firefighters use to do their important jobs. They also learned about the special protective gear firefighters wear and why it can sometimes look a little different.

We love giving our students hands-on, real-life learning experiences that help them understand the world around them. A big thank you to Firefighter Poteat for taking the time to visit and make learning so exciting! ❤️

🚒👩‍⚕️👷‍♂️ Community Helpers Week at Children’s House! 👓✨

This week at Children’s House, we are learning all about Community Helpers and the important roles they play in keeping our community safe, healthy, and happy! ❤️

We had a very special guest, Dr. Barber, an eye doctor, visit our students to teach them all about their eyes 👀 and why it’s so important to take good care of them. The children learned how our eyes help us read, play, see our friends, and explore the world around us!

Dr. Barber talked about healthy habits like:
👓 Wearing glasses if we need them
🥕 Eating healthy foods that are good for our eyes
📺 Not sitting too close to screens
🧼 Keeping our hands clean and out of our eyes

The students asked great questions and had so much fun learning how eye doctors help people see their very best!

A big thank you to Dr. Barber for taking the time to invest in our little learners. We love connecting classroom learning to real-life community heroes! 💙

Children’s House Daycare
Children’s House is looking for a warm, dependable, and energetic Part-Time Floater to join our team!

🕒 Hours: Afternoon shift scheduled within the hours of 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM (exact daily hours may vary)
💲 Pay: $14.00 per hour

About the Position:

Our floater plays an important role in supporting all classrooms throughout the afternoon. This position requires flexibility, teamwork, and a genuine love for working with children from infants through preschool.

Responsibilities Include:

* Assisting lead teachers in various classrooms as needed
* Supervising and engaging children during play, learning activities, and transitions
* Helping with classroom cleanup and organization
* Supporting nap time, snack time, and afternoon routines
* Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and positive environment
* Communicating professionally with staff and families

Qualifications:

* Experience working with young children preferred
* Dependable and punctual
* Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
* Must pass a background check

On Thursday, February 26, we had the absolute joy of celebrating a very special milestone at Children’s House — Ms. Toni’s 10 year work anniversary. 💛

For the past decade, Ms. Toni has poured her heart into loving, teaching, and guiding so many little ones. She has been such a steady and comforting presence for our children, and a constant source of support for families and coworkers. Her patience, kindness, and genuine love for what she does truly shine through every single day.

Ten years represents so much more than time. It’s countless hugs, lessons taught, tears wiped, milestones celebrated, and little lives shaped in the most meaningful ways. The impact she has made over the years is something we are so thankful for.

We are beyond grateful for her dedication and the joy she brings to Children’s House. Here’s to 10 incredible years and many more ahead. Thank you, Ms. Toni, for everything you do! 💐

After two long weeks of snow, ice, and brrr cold temps, the kiddos finally got back outside today and soaked up that beautiful weather ☀️❄️➡️🌤️

✨🎄 Santa’s Workshop: A Christmas to Remember! 🎄✨

Our school’s Christmas performance, Santa’s Workshop, was truly a magical experience from start to finish! Watching the children light up the stage with their joy, hard work, and holiday spirit made every moment of preparation so worthwhile. From the music and laughter to the smiles in the audience, it was a celebration filled with warmth and Christmas cheer.

One of the most exciting highlights was our very special guest… Santa Claus himself! 🎅 The children’s faces absolutely lit up, and the excitement in the room was something we’ll never forget. It made the performance feel extra special and brought the magic of Christmas to life in the most wonderful way.

We are so proud of our students and grateful to our families and staff for helping make Santa’s Workshop such a fun and memorable event. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us—this is a Christmas memory we’ll cherish forever! ❤️🎄
