Today, on the 25th anniversary, we remember the heroes who ran toward danger.

The Averett University Men's Lacrosse team honored the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice by taking on a stair climb to symbolize the 110 stories of the World Trade Center in their memory. 🇺🇸

Averett University was pleased to welcome Congressman John McGuire and Virginia Private Colleges President Chris Peace to tour the university’s aeronautics program. The visit offered an opportunity for President Dr. Tatia Daniels Granger to showcase Averett’s aviation education and the important role its graduates play in meeting Virginia’s workforce needs.

Averett Provost Julie Brown and Chief Flight Instructor Travis Williams expanded on the growth opportunities for the program. Instructors and students shared their experiences and demonstrated the program in action.

Paul Bowles ’85, a member of Averett’s Board of Trustees and a long-time commercial pilot, also shared the benefits of the program to his long career.
