Grove Park Preschool

Good Evening Preschool Parents. This is the last call that many of you will receive from me. Sadly preschool ends this week. We have a half day of school tomorrow and a half day of school on Wednesday. School will dismiss at 12:00 p.m. for car riders and 12:15 p.m. for bus riders on each day.

Thank you for coming out last week to support our 3 and 4 year olds who will be moving on to their next adventure. Thank you for braving the heat. Yes, it was hot and sunny but after around 300 bottles of water, we all made it. Some will be returning to Grove Park Preschool and others will be moving to Kindergarten. Thank you for all of the support you offered us this school year.

Good Evening Preschool Parents. This is Principal Wright-Simmers. Well, the time is finally here. This week we will be promoting our 4-year-olds to Kindergarten and Bridging our 3-year-olds to our 4-year old program. Your children have worked so hard and learned so much that their accomplishments will be recognized. The Grove Park 3-year-old Bridging Ceremony will be Tuesday, May 19th at 10:00 a.m. Families will first go to the classroom for more personal recognition and then they will go to the gym for the music program and Bridging Ceremony. Grove Park will have Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Underwood, Mrs. D. Smith, Ms. Jones and Ms. Younger’s 4-year-old Preschool Promotion on Wednesday, May 20th at 10:00 a.m. Due to the large number of attendees we will have the promotion ceremonies outside. Mrs. B. Smith, Ms. Meeks. Mrs. Brandon’s and Mr Shadrick's classes will be promoted at 11:00 a.m. This will again be outside. This will be a very special day for all of the children. If you want to check your child out to continue the celebration we understand, but school will be open until the regular time.

I want to thank everyone who helped appreciate our Grove Park Preschool teachers this week. They were overjoyed with the support that you showed to them. Thank you again. Also, I want to say Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers. I know that you are very proud of your little ones. This week we will have a Fun Day for the children at Grove Park Preschool. It will be on Thursday, May 14th. Parents are not invited to this event. This will be for our wonderful children, a treat for them because they deserve a fun day because of all of the hard work they did this year. Please make sure the children wear comfortable and cool clothing, as the Fun Day will be outside. They must also wear tennis shoes and no other types of shoes so we can ensure that the kids are safe while running outside. Also, please put sunscreen on your child before they leave for school.

Looking ahead to the following week, our 3 year old Moving up Ceremony will be on Tuesday, 19th at 10:00 a.m. 4 year old promotion will be May 20th with times depending on your class. More information will be coming.

The teachers at Grove Park Preschool were treated to slushies from the Sunset Slush Bus donated by Moving Dynamics LLC. Thank you for treating our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week!

Nurse Lisa, as we all call her, works tirelessly to ensure that everyone in the building is safe and healthy. Sometimes the children just stop in to get a hug. She means the workd to us at Grove Park Preschool. Happy Nurse's Day, Lisa Fowlkes!

We love our wonderful ladies who feed us each day. Thank you Mrs. Mia (not pictured) and Ms. Patricia for all of the yummy food you prepare for us.

Arbor Day at Grove Park Preschool!

Grove Park truly appreciates the women and men who transport our children to and from school each day. Thank you to out wonderful bus drivers!

Grove Park Preschool celebrates our wonderful Karen Pritchett on Administrative Assistant's Day. She helps is all in more ways than we can count. She always has a smile and is very helpful. Thank you for all you do.

Everyone! Please think of a wonderful Grove Park Preschool Teacher who would deserve this great honor! The nomination period will run through May 1. After nominations close, the Bassett team will narrow submissions down to a group of finalists, and parents, students, and staff are then invited to vote to select the Spring 2026 BOS Educator of Distinction.
