Mrs. Quesenberry's third graders put their creativity and gratitude on display as they created heartfelt thank-you posters for our first responders, military members, and all those who work every day to keep our communities safe.

The students proudly shared their posters with Mr. Weatherford, who then gave them a special lesson on the history of Sacred Heart Catholic School. They learned that his office was once the school chapel and heard stories about the Sisters who faithfully served as principals, along with the many leaders who have guided our school through the years.

As the beautiful sunlight streamed through the stained-glass windows, casting colorful reflections across the walls, our students were reminded of the rich history, faith, and tradition that continue to shine brightly at Sacred Heart.

Thank you to all who serve and protect, and thank you to our third graders for sharing such meaningful messages of appreciation! 🇺🇸❤️

Today, our Sacred Heart Catholic School family paused to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Students and staff gathered this morning for a special prayer and a moment of silence as we reflected on the courage, sacrifice, and unity shown on that day. We also honored the many first responders who continue to serve and protect our communities.

We are especially proud to recognize one of our students, whose father serves as a firefighter, as he proudly held the American flag during our remembrance. His participation was a meaningful reminder of the dedication and bravery of those who answer the call to serve others.

May we never forget the heroes, the victims, and the enduring spirit of our nation.

What an exciting day for our Sacred Heart Community!

This morning, Principal Matthew Weatherford, Pastor Fr. Anthony Senyah, 8th graders, and other community members visited Averett University to dedicate a plaque placed in honor of the Carriage House - the last remaining building from the original Sacred Heart Catholic School.

A special thank you to Abby and Channel 13 News for taking an interest in our history and sharing this story with our community.

📖❤️ Growing in Faith, One Verse at a Time!

Each week, Father Anthony challenges our students to memorize a new Scripture verse, helping them grow deeper in their faith and carry God’s Word with them each day.

This week’s verse is Psalm 100:2:
“Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.” 🎶

Our 3rd grade students have been working diligently to memorize the verse in preparation for this week’s Mass. They took home notecards over the weekend to practice and continue working on the verse with their families. 💗

We are so proud of their hard work and dedication to growing in their faith! 🙏✝️
