Galileo Magnet High School

Rising Senior, Georgia-Claire Willoughby recently participated in the 2026 National Beta Convention held in Nashville, Tennessee. Georgia-Claire joined thousands of Beta members from across the United States to celebrate academic achievement, leadership, character, and service while competing in a variety of national competitions. Georgia-Claire participated in Visual Arts for Fiber Arts and Academics for Health and PE. She placed second in the Nation for Health and PE grade 11 in Academics! Way to go GC!

Galileo is proud to celebrate students who earned academic honors through the College Board National Recognition Program, available on bigfuture.org. This year, 8 of our students were among the more than 300,000 recipients nationwide─the highest participation in the program’s history.

New things are happening at Galileo!

We are excited to start our own Varsity Basketball program!

We are looking forward to seeing what Coach P and Coach Fuller do with their Falcon wings!

On Tuesday, June 30 from 9 AM until 4 PM, PATHS will host a physical clinic for all Galileo students interested in playing sports during the 2026-2027 school year. Prospective student athletes are encouraged to attend as per VHSL rules, athletes cannot condition or practice with a team unless a current sports physical is on file. Parents, please use the QR code to complete the health screening form from PATHS. Copies of the VHSL physical form can be picked up from the main office at Galileo ahead of the clinic with pages 1-3 completed by the parent. The clinic is $25 per student athlete unless it is billed through insurance. Student athletes are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing for the physical exam.

Congratulations to Thomas Hungarland, who cleared 12’6” to win the VHSL Class 1 Outdoor Track & Field State Championship in Pole Vault.

After also winning the Indoor State Championship this year, Thomas finishes the season and his high school career as a state champion in both indoor and outdoor track & field.
