Thank you for taking time to read my bio! I am a wife and a mom of 5 amazing kids, 4 boys and 1 girl. My life in Danville started in 2011 when our 2nd oldest decided to transfer to Danville for high school. We were in search of a smaller school system where our kids were more than just a number. Danville provided that and so much more! After the next 2 kids followed their brothers bold move we were finally able to move to Danville and become residents! Our daughter was able to start her school journey at North Elementary and 3 of her older brothers are all Danville graduates!
I have always been a hands on involved mom but it was not until Covid I realized how vital our school board is and the importance of being involved. As parents it’s our responsibility to hold our school board and administrators accountable. In a similar fashion we parents are held accountable by teachers and administrators as we navigate through each school year and what it brings.. This is the foundation of forging a partnership to create the best learning environment for students and best working environment for our teachers and administrators. If elected I will have a foothold on all sides of this partnership, as my middle school child and current family members who are faculty will have to live the very policies and procedures that are created.
We have seen many school boards, some just a town away, who are unwilling to give parents a voice. Thus far, we have been blessed with a school board that has allowed a parents voice to be heard. My goal is to continue to rely on parent and staff involvement. Parents and school board members may not always agree but open discussion and respectful debate is how real solutions are found. If elected for school board I can ensure you that as a parent and as a faculty member your voice will be heard.
