It is less than 30 days out from Danvers’ Truck Day on Saturday, September 12th from 10am–2pm at Endicott Park!

Danvers’ Truck Day is the region’s first, largest, and longest-running “touch a truck” gathering, featuring more than 100 vehicles and pieces of equipment and drawing thousands of families!

The event provides a unique opportunity for the community to engage with public safety, public services, and private contractors in an inspiring, hands-on environment. Attendees of all ages can climb into the driver’s seat, explore the showcased equipment, and learn directly from the operators about their vital roles in keeping our community safe, clean, and running smoothly.

🔇 SENSORY-FRIENDLY HOUR: 1:00–2:00 PM
This year’s event features a designated sensory-friendly hour from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM to support those of us who are sensitive to loud noises, crowds, or overwhelming stimulation. During this time, operators to ensure all sirens, horns, and engines remain off.

🧱 On Friday, August 8, the Friends of Endicott Park installed the new dedication bricks at the entrance to the Children’s Barn.

Endicott Park is one of Danvers’ most beloved community treasures, offering beautiful open space, trails, farm animals, and plenty of opportunities for families to enjoy the outdoors. The Children’s Barn is a favorite destination for families.

A big thank you to everyone who purchased a brick and helped support the Friends of Endicott Park.❤️

🚶‍♀️🌳 Great news for visitors to Endicott Park! The fitness trail is once again open following the replacement of the footbridge at the rear of the property.

A big thank you to the Friends of Endicott Park, Inc. for generously funding this important improvement. 📣Update From Endicott Park Staff

Sections of the fitness trail will be closed this weekend into early next week for repairs to one of the footbridges. The trail will be impassable in the area behind the Community Gardens.

Over the past several months, you may have noticed that staff at 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 planting some new trees around the park. 🌳🌲

Part of what makes 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 so beautiful is the abundance of large trees found throughout the grounds. Every year, trees die naturally due to disease, wind damage, pests and so on. 💨

The 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 have been donating $2,000 annually to the park for the purchase of new trees to replace the trees that come down every year. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞!

On July 23rd the Danvers Rotary is hosting a Bocce Tournament fundraiser at Endicott Park to help us raise funds for essential lifesaving equipment for our Danvers Police Department.

Updates From Endicott Park!

Last week, while Erika, who normally supervises the Nature Center’s observation hive, was away, thousands of the centers honeybees started leaving the hive, signaling that they were about to swarm. 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝

Not wanting to lose the colony, Ranger Emily sprung into action. She grabbed the swarm box, a ladder, and put on our bee suit. After watching quick YouTube video, she learned how to capture the colony and successfully secured the queen and absconding bees (this is when just a portion of the colony leaves the hive) in the swarm box! 👑

The bees that absconded are currently with the parks volunteer beekeeper, Tom, while he figures out why they absconded, and what needs to be done to reintroduce them to the observation hive in the Nature Center. 🐝

Thanks to Emily’s quick action and can-do attitude, park staff will continue to have bees in the Nature Center for you to enjoy! Stay tuned for reintroduction news- in the meantime, a small colony remains inside the Nature Center. 🍯

This evening (6/2/2026), during the Selectboard meeting, the following gifts from the Friends of Endicott Park were accepted by the town:

• Up to $10,000 for installing a concrete floor in the pasture run-in shelter and for building a separate concrete wash pad.
• $6,200 for repairing and replacing two footbridges along the fitness trail.
• $3,800 for modular corral fencing in the animal pasture.
• $200 to enhance the bee exhibit at the Nature Center.

Chris Sanborn, Director of the Department of Natural Resources, expressed his gratitude: "These funds were raised through the dedication and generosity of our volunteers, supporters, and community partners. I am truly thankful for the ongoing collaboration between the Town and this remarkable organization, which is devoted to keeping this cherished property accessible, safe, and beneficial for everyone who visits."
