***This post is NOT an invitation to discuss your opinions about Lindsay or what you think the outcome of the trial should be, please refrain from debates about that.
This post IS an invitation to share your experiences, if you feel called, to read those comments from other women, and to LEARN.
Most importantly, this post is for INFORMATION, and to offer RESOURCES to anyone who needs it. And to remind everyone that this is heavy, you’re not alone, you can heal from these illnesses and help is available.
I’ve been feeling a lot of heaviness around the Lindsay Clancy trial. I have the desire to watch, I think it’s important- and- I know I need to protect my own mental health and I have been struggling to balance those two truths.
I experienced pretty severe PPD and PPA- and still struggle with anxiety. It is hard to listen, and I feel strongly that part of my purpose in this lifetime is to be an advocate for women and mothers.
I know there are many of us out here struggling as we watch trial this play out. Reading some horrible comments online. Dealing with so many confusing and overwhelming feelings.
Maybe you are reliving your own experience, maybe you are in a post partum period and struggling right now. Maybe you are worried about a friend or family member.
Maybe you didn’t struggle with this and you’re finding it hard to have compassion or understanding. Maybe you have a lot of anger toward Lindsay and moms that have been through similar experiences- I understand that too. I encourage you to also visit websites like postpartum international- we need to have more knowledge and understanding about these illnesses. The more we destigmatize these things, the more people will talk and learn, and accept that these very real illnesses are part of life- the more women will feel comfortable about asking for and accepting help.
♥️♥️♥️
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
YOUR FEELINGS ARE VALID
IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING- THERE IS HELP.
Postpartum Suport International has a lot of resources. Mass General has resources.
Please check on each other. Talk about these things. We need to bring this out of the shadows. No one should be suffering alone.
