The Greater Rochester Scleroderma Support Group took part in Assemblyman Josh Jensen's 5th Annual Family Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, October 3rd, at Greece Town Hall.

The event provided an excellent chance for the members to educate and spread awareness about scleroderma to the public.

It was great to network, make new friends and gain new members .

Shout out to Cathy Ribert, Erin Vess, Edith Diane Reynolds, Jannita Kegler, and Marilyn Sibley, who represented the Tri-State Chapter.

This free event was organized in partnership with Rochester Regional Health and the University of Rochester Medical Center, was open to everyone.

A big thank you to Assemblyman Jensen for always including us, it’s a pleasure working with him and his team and having their support in promoting the mission of the National Scleroderma Foundation.

Hope in Progress: University of Rochester Research Visit

On October 3, members of the National Scleroderma Foundation’s Tri-State Chapter had the opportunity to visit the University of Rochester and spend time with PhD candidate Gayathri “Gaya” Guru Murthy and her team.

The visit was a wonderful opportunity to learn, ask questions, connect with the research team, and see firsthand the dedication that goes into advancing our understanding of scleroderma.

Gaya reminded us that “it takes a village” and that collaboration is essential to moving research forward. Her passion and commitment left us feeling inspired and, most importantly, hopeful.

We are incredibly grateful to the University of Rochester team for welcoming our scleroderma community and for their vision of building a regional scleroderma center to provide focused care and support to the Rochester community and beyond.

Together, we are building hope and progress. 🩵

What a beautiful day at our Connecticut Walk, held in honor of Melissa Marquis. Thank you to the Mayor of New Britain for your support of our walk and the scleroderma community.

Every step helps raise awareness, support those affected by scleroderma, and bring hope to our community.
