Lagom Landing

Lagom Landing Respite & Restoration at Lagom Landing provides retreat space and experiential renewal activities.

A "transition" or "gap" year program, where students, over the course of a school-year, work with their hands while living in community. Students learn the basics of residential construction and other hands-on trades, applying their skills to help those in the community who cannot afford costly repairs on their homes. Located on 60 acres of land in rural Livingston County, western NY, Lagom Lading

is directed by a Board of 5, and run by Rock Castor, a life-long self-employed builder, and Laurel Nelson, an ordained Presbyterian Minister.

We want to thank everyone who came in body or spirit to our Final Pig Roast! We celebrated the past with telling stories and honoring our Alumni, many who traveled great distances. We honored the future with presentations from Rochester's Center for Teen Empowerment and Buffalo's Wheels for Workers, who will be recipients of our remaining assets. And we celebrated our Connectedness to one another and all beings in this Present Moment. Please know that as we dissolve as a nonprofit, the spirit of Lagom remains in this space. If you need a place to rest and restore, Rock and Laurel will be honored to welcome you in the future. We'll keep this page open as a means of contacting us.

We’re excited to be hosting the Mobile Monastery Chautauqua this coming Monday March 2, 2-8:30pm! Come for as much time as you are able but please let us know you’re coming. Experience a mix of activities: tapping maple trees mindfully, meditation, circling, a dharma talk on AI, enjoy some massage and tea and dinner together. We hope you can join us!
