The following information comes from Emmanuel University. This is a great opportunity for homeschooling students!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! As we approach the start of the fall semester, I wanted to send out the dates and other information about our PE program this fall.
Fall Semester Dates:
The week of August 17th through the week of November 9th
No Classes on the following dates:
Monday, September 9th (Labor Day)
Thursday, October 8th (Fall Break)
Secondary PE:
*Grades 6-12
*Mondays and Wednesdays
*2:30-3:20pm
Elementary PE:
*Split into two age groups as follows:
*Grades K-2 on Tuesdays 2:30-3:20pm
*Grades 3-5 on Thursdays 2:30-3:20pm
As before, a fee of $25 per semester, per student will be due on the first day of class to help offset the costs for this program. We also need each parent to complete a Liability Release Form and an Emergency Medical Information Form for each child. I will send another email closer to the start of the semester with these forms attached. Since it is the start of a new academic year, we will need both forms completed for every student.
When attending classes, students should wear comfortable activewear that will allow them to move freely. Also note that athletic shoes are required for participation in class activities. Flip-flops, sandals, boots, and other styles of hard-soled shoes are not conducive to physical education activities, can damage the gym floor, and may result in injuries, so they must be avoided. We appreciate your cooperation with this policy.
We are happy to share the benefits of PE classes to our homeschooling community and give our university students the opportunity to gain valuable teaching experience. Please remember, to help ensure students have a safe and positive learning experience, only students in the designated grade range should be participating in those classes. Older or younger students should not plan to join in activities for another class and should not be on the gym floor during class time. Parents and other family members are always welcome to watch from the bleachers, though.
We hope you will participate in our program again this year, and please also continue to share the word with other families who may be interested.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
Enjoy the rest of your summer, and we look forward to seeing you in PE classes this fall!
God bless,
Dr. Rick W. Wilson
