We are proud to showcase the exceptional work of our senior Plumbing and Heating students, who recently completed a comprehensive mechanical installation for a new construction home.
This project was completed in partnership with Eastern Connecticut Habitat for Humanity, providing our students with invaluable, real-world field experience while delivering a high-quality mechanical system for a local family.
Project Scope & Technical Ex*****on
Our graduating seniors were fully responsible for the layout, rigging, and construction of three major residential systems:
Heating System: Featuring a high-efficiency propane fired wall-mounted condensing boiler, baseboard heat, and variable speed pumps.
Domestic Water: Engineered for balanced pressure, reliable hot water delivery, and isolation of the various fixture groups through the use of a field fabricated distribution manifold.
Drainage Systems: Installed in strict compliance with code standards for proper venting and waste removal.
To successfully execute this installation, the students had to demonstrate proficiency in a wide array of industry-standard materials and joining methods. The project utilized CSST, black steel pipe, PVC, PEX, copper sweat fittings, and copper ProPress fittings.

As shown in the attached installation photos, the clean piping runs, proper component support, and organized layout reflect a level of craftsmanship expected of seasoned professionals. The precision on display here ensures that this home will operate efficiently and reliably for years to come.
