Candlewood Lake Islands Remain Closed

The Candlewood Lake Authority reminds boaters that following last season’s indefinite closure of the islands on Candlewood Lake, the islands remain closed this season. The closures are in place due to ongoing health and safety concerns and do not affect privately owned islands.

Boaters and lake users are reminded that accessing the closed islands is prohibited and may result in enforcement actions, including removal and fines, by law enforcement.

Those planning to recreate on Candlewood Lake this summer are advised to plan trips with these season-long restrictions in mind and to respect all posted signage and boating regulations while on the lake.

Compliance with the closures helps ensure the safety of lake users and supports responsible lake management.

The Candlewood Lake Authority thanks the public for helping ensure a safe and responsible boating season.
