Our 8th grade students just finished reading Tuesdays With Morrie by Mitch Albom.

Their task was to choose ONE of Morrie’s aphorisms (short, wise statements) and show its application in the book through quotes and images and then take the quote and develop ways that it applied to their life as well.

What an outstanding job they did! Some examples include: Accept what you are able to do and what you are not able to do. Love always wins. Love is the only rational act.

This morning our 8th grade class had the honor of leading the Pledge of Allegiance at the City of Danbury‘s 9/11 Memorial Ceremony. Father Mecca was also there to lead the opening prayer. Back at school we said several special prayers, had a kindness challenge and our 6th grade watched the ceremony live stream. We as a St. Peter School community remember all those lost 25 years ago today and all those heroes who continue to be affected by their willingness to help in the days and months that followed. Eternal rest grant to them O Lord. “No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” John 15:13
