Today, teachers wrapped up their first week back with Mass and PD on our theme for the school year, focusing on the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. During the PD teachers chose a gift to focus on and designed rocks that will be used as a reminder throughout the school year. The afternoon continued with a delicious pizza lunch followed by work in the classrooms to get the student spaces ready for next week.

Supply drop off continues Monday. PK and K orientation is Monday at 11am. The 2026-27 school year begins on Wednesday!

Our teachers have returned and our students are in their last full week of summer. Here’s a look at some of our upcoming important dates. Please be sure to check your email or our school website for the Back to School issue of our newsletter, “The Messenger“. There is a ton of important information including a survey of how your child will be going home. Supply lists can also be found on our website. Enjoy the last days of summer!

Next up is Mrs. Boyle, our Kindergarten teacher. This summer she spent lots of time at the beach on Candlewood Lake and went on many adventures with her family! They visited Mystic Aquarium, The Dinosaur Place, and Great Wolf Lodge. They spent a day at a Construction-themed playground, the Pez Museum, and visited local parks and playgrounds.  

Currently they are waiting for over 15 Monarch butterflies to hatch. 🦋

Next up, Mrs. Redmond, our PK teacher. Mrs. Redmond been busy this summer going to the beach, traveling, spending time with her dog Jackson and the highlight of her summer was her daughter getting engaged! What an exciting summer!

It’s time for one of our favorite summer posts highlighting what our teachers have been up to this summer! First up is our 1st Grade teacher Mrs. Smith.

Mrs. Smith has been relaxing this summer and working on her tan. In June, she adopted her 3rd cat named Holly! She has also been keeping busy by reading a few books. Mrs. Smith can’t wait to start the new school year and meet all of her new Fabulous First Graders, as well as to see all the new and returning students at SPS! She hopes everyone is having a safe and wonderful summer!
