WCSU Meteorology An exciting new B.S./M.S. degree program in meteorology and climate science starts this fall at Western Connecticut State University.

The meteorology program is part of the Department of Physics, Astronomy, and Meteorology at Western Connecticut State University (WCSU)
and offers the only undergraduate degree program in meteorology in southern New England. The Department of Physics, Astronomy, and Meteorology is located in the Science Building on the mid-town campus in Danbury, Connecticut.

We are just a few weeks away from the 10th TriState Weather Conference, taking place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Western Connecticut State University!
I’m honored to be hosting this milestone 10th conference, bringing together meteorologists, weather enthusiasts, students, educators, researchers, and professionals for a day of education, discussion, and networking.
We have an outstanding lineup of speakers, including:
🎤 Keynote: Michelle Mainelli, Deputy Director of the National Weather Service
🌎 Kim Cobb, Brown University, presenting:
“Super-El Niño: A Role for Climate Change?”
And that’s just part of the program! There will be plenty of additional presentations, discussions, and opportunities to connect with others who share a passion for weather and climate.
