🐝 Passionate about pollinators? 🐝 You can help us protect them by participating in the Great Southeast Pollinator Census!

The Great Southeast Pollinator Census on August 21 and 22 is a community science project that invites folks of all ages to observe and count pollinators in their yards and neighborhoods. This annual event aims to collect data on pollinator population levels and educate the public on the importance of pollinators.

Due to the water outage affecting county government buildings and all of the Town of Danbury, all county offices within Danbury will close at 12 noon for the remainder of the day for all non-essential employees.

We plan to reopen at normal business hours tomorrow Friday, August 7, 2026.

Some drought management tips for livestock producers:
1. Take the drought survey at go.ncsu.edu/droughtsurvey
2. Apply for the Livestock Forage Disaster Program thru FSA
3. Test for high nitrates in your hay
4. Visit nchayfinder.com to look for hay/list hay for sale.
5. Sell some stock
6. Watch for poisonous weeds
