The NCDA&CS Disposal Program for farmers and homeowners offers free, non-regulatory collection of unwanted, outdated, or banned pesticides.
N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center will be hosting an NCDA&CS Pesticide Disposal Day:

October 29, 2026
10:00 am-2:00 pm
7232 Forsyth Center Dr. Tobaccoville, NC 27050

Nearly all pesticide products will be accepted, including banned and out-dated pesticides. For pesticides with unreadable or missing labels, contact the Forsyth County Cooperative Extension office at (336) 703-2850 for instructions. Participants are asked to save any portion of the label to help identify the material to be disposed of. Unknown materials cannot be accepted.

For gas cylinders or containers greater than five gallons in size and for tips on transporting pesticides safely to the collection event, contact the Forsyth county extension office at (336) 703-2850 before the collection day for special instructions and information.

Fall is a time for planting and preparing for the upcoming growing season. It is also a good time to submit soil samples to the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for agronomic recommendations specific to what you are growing.

Now is also the time to submit soil samples for faster turnaround times and to avoid peak-season testing fees. Soil testing is free for North Carolina residents from April 1, 2026, through Nov. 30, 2026. Learn more in the release below!
