🥁 roll…. Did you guess - Oglethorpe University? Located in Brookhaven, GA just outside the Atlanta perimeter about 30 minutes give or take depending on traffic. Life after Oglethorpe data shows 93% of grads have FT positions or are enrolled in grad school. Coca-Cola, the CDC, Emory Healthcare, and Porsche hire many Stormy Petrels.
Got 🎼Musical talent? You can audition for a scholarship; the only requirement is to be in an ensemble if not majoring in music. If singing is your thing there is an A Capella and choir. Popular majors include: Business-from non-profit to actuarial, Theater, Film/Media Studies, and Psychology, plus all the sciences.
Fun facts: The Spider Man movie was filmed on the campus in the Hearst Building and Do Revenge with Maia Hawke also filmed on the campus. Tons of TV/movie-making going on in Georgia, in part because of the state’s $1 Billion incentives to TV/movie companies. Creatives can find their place here.

This college boasts a CORE! 💪 Not strong and but career prep for every job you’ll ever have. Come challenge how you think - about yourself, the world, and everything in it. Small and engaging classes capped at 25! Here your professors will know your name as they teach in Socratic style. 16 D3 sports, 100+ student organizations and Greek life with houses. In 2023 it was a Best Buy school. The living room pic has been used in many films. Any guesses?

🤔 Thoughts after listening to this timely audio story.
Teens hear how you label them (lazy, good at math, bad at English, and worse). This feeds into their own doubts and self criticism.
Graduation and moving onto college isn’t a rite of passage for all, especially those who didn’t have a great high school experience. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t college material.
Teens are not their GPA.
Some teens take a bit longer to get themselves together, while those who seemingly have it together may actually not.
Give teens the chance to reinvent themselves and move forward.
