We had a fabulous first week of classes. Last week, we welcomed 45 new elementary teacher candidates. We also welcomed a new cohort of Secondary Candidates and a new cohort in the Para to Teacher Pathway. Please share your first week pictures and tag yourselves here.

We need YOU! We are currently seeking recent graduates to participate in a project that will be a guide as we develop a support system for induction teachers (in years 1-3). We'd love to find one more elementary graduate and a History graduate who teaches in the vicinity of campus. Your participation will truly impact how we do things at the SoE.

Elementary Teacher Candidates will all meet together on your first day back on campus (whether that's Monday or Tuesday). We'll meet in Brown 205 for about 45 minutes.

As teacher candidates are gearing up for a successful year, your professors are too. At Faculty Development Day, we talked about storybook leadership and the lessons we can take from our favorite characters. At the end of the day our own Aimee Terrebonne Cribbs led the entire DSC faculty and staff in a community mural project inspired by the Brown Hall roadrunners. A really cool campus photo op is coming soon. Stay tuned!

Understanding that no two students are the same is central to effective teaching and learning. With product differentiation, students can demonstrate their understanding in the way most comfortable to them. EDUC 2120 students chose between multiple options for their final critical reflection and supported their work with creator statements. How could this process be adapted for the K-12 setting?
