Our first Paint the Town Red sponsor is officially in! 🎉

A huge thank you to Triple L Construction for stepping up as an Academic Sponsor for Paint the Town Red 2026!

Support from local businesses like Triple L Construction is what makes this event, and so much of the Dalton Education Foundation’s work, possible. Sponsorship dollars help us invest directly back into Dalton Public Schools, supporting classroom grants, innovative learning opportunities, and resources that help our educators bring great ideas to life for students.

We are incredibly grateful to Triple L Construction for kicking off this year’s sponsorships and showing their support for public education in Dalton!

Now, who’s next? We would love to see even more of our local businesses join us as Paint the Town Red sponsors. It’s a great way to support our schools, celebrate our community, and make a direct impact on students and teachers across DPS.

Thank you, Triple L Construction, for helping us get Paint the Town Red started strong!

DEF is proud to partner with Dalton Reads!

The Dalton Education Foundation is excited to support Dalton Reads, an initiative focused on keeping students connected to books, literacy, and learning beyond the classroom.

Through pop-up reading events and opportunities throughout the community, Dalton Reads helps put books directly into the hands of children and families, making reading more accessible, engaging, and fun. These experiences matter because strong readers are built through consistent opportunities to read, explore new stories, and develop a love of books both in and out of school.

Funding for this work was made possible through a grant written by Ali Finley, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools and Literacy, with DEF proud to serve as a partner in bringing that vision to life.

We are grateful for the opportunity to invest in programs like Dalton Reads that support literacy, strengthen our community, and help create meaningful learning opportunities for Dalton students.

Join us in celebrating Shalisa Love, our 2026 Tom Jones Educator of the Year!

Shalisa has served Dalton Public Schools in a variety of roles throughout her career and currently leads the Teaching as a Profession Pathway at Dalton High School. With 15 years in education and 20 years in coaching, her work has reached students across the district both in the classroom and through athletics.

The Tom Jones Educator of the Year Award has recognized outstanding Dalton Public Schools educators since 1987. Named in memory of Tom Jones, the award honors educators for their professional accomplishments, their relationships with students and families, and their contributions to our schools and community.

“Shalisa Love has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student growth, creativity, and achievement both in the classroom and on the sidelines, continuing the legacy of Tom Jones, whose vision and leadership helped shape education in Dalton,” said Dr. Lisa Hackney, President of the Dalton Education Foundation.

We are also incredibly proud to celebrate all of this year’s finalists. Being named a finalist for the Tom Jones Educator of the Year Award is an honor in itself, and each of these educators represents the dedication, talent, and commitment found throughout Dalton Public Schools. We are grateful for the work they do every day for our students, schools, and community.

A special thank you to the Tom Jones family for their continued support of this meaningful award and for helping us recognize and celebrate outstanding educators year after year.

Congratulations to Shalisa and to all of our 2026 finalists!
